Camping Program

Camp (2)

At Sherbourne Primary School, the children participate in our Camping Program from Prep through to Grade 6. They take part in a range of experiences and activities beyond the classroom as a part of the school’s camping program. Our camping program helps to develop and support children’s independence.

The program involves the following set of experiences:

  • Prep Breakfast – An early arrival at school, for breakfast in their pyjamas.
  • Year 1 and 2 – A one-day offsite camp where the children participate in a range of outdoor activities. This camp day visit is conducted as an extended excursion, with the children leaving school around 8am and returning around 5pm.
  • Year 3 -6  Camp – A three-day camp that again alternates between a bush and beach setting. On-site adventure activities are undertaken and visits to local tourist attractions are made. The focus is on teamwork and students complete a unit of work related to the camp.

All school camps are fully accredited with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
