Performing Arts

In the Victorian Curriculum F–10, Performing Arts includes Dance, Drama, and Music.

The Arts enable students to develop their creative and expressive capacities by learning about the different practices, disciplines and traditions that have shaped the expression of culture locally, nationally and globally.

Learning in Performing Arts involves students engaging in experiences drawn from a variety of genres and styles, from a range of cultures, times and locations.

The curriculum is organised into the following experiences and skills; Explore and express, Performing Arts practices, present and perform, respond and interpret.

At Sherbourne we also offer the following performing arts experiences:

  • Private instrumental music lessons in guitar, keyboard and drums are available to students in class time, through PMI music.
  • An instrumental concert each semester featuring students across the school who are currently learning an instrument at home or at school.
  • The Year 6 dance performances are a special feature of the annual Sherbourne Graduation.
A whole school, end of year performance on the school stage located on the oval.
